What is the day’s schedule?
9:30-9:50 am Check in outside of the entrance to the Museum at FIT, address 227 W 27th St, New York, NY 10001.
10:00 am Visit to Special Collections and FIT Archive
11:00 am Visit to the Study Collection at the Museum at FIT
12:00 pm to 1:15 Lunch on your own
1:15 pm Meet back at the entrance to the Museum at FIT to check back in
1:30 pm Private tour of the exhibition Doll Dressing
2:30 pm Bathroom break and walk to M&S Schmalberg, address 242 W 36th St. #700, New York, NY 10018
3:00 pm M&S Schmalberg tour, followed by shopping time!
4:00 pm Day concludes
What should I bring?
The weather will require winter clothing, but please avoid bringing overly bulky or extraneous bags. You will have a place to store your things for the morning’s visit but not the exhibition tour.
Other things to consider…
Please take note that there is a lot of standing in this tour. There will be places to sit during the Study Collection visit and outside of the exhibition tour but likely not in it. Bathrooms are accessible at all times.
Will we have time to browse, and can I take photos?
As the photography rules vary in each individual setting, we will makes sure and clarify what is and is not allowed. In general, photography is allowed for private and personal use.
